Basketball legend Michael Jordan is selling his Chicago home for $21 million.
The NBA superstar�s 7.39-acre property compound nestled in Highland Park in Chicago suburb was once put in the market February last year for $29 million.
He bought the land where the property was built in 1991. He then transferred to the house after it was finished in 1994, which became his home for nearly two decades.
Jordan, in an email, said he is selling the home because �my kids are grown now and I don�t need a large house in Chicago.� The owner of the basketball team the Charlotte Bobcats said he is splitting his time between the team in North Carolina and a new home he built.
�It was time for some warmer weather down at my new home in Florida. Some of the best things in the world are sold at auction, and I�ve seen that this is the beginning of a trend for selling unique, one-of-a-kind homes.�
The 56,000-square-foot home is built with a contemporary design and has nine bedrooms, 19 bathrooms, three-bedroom guest wing, pool pavilion, a deep water pond and an outdoor tennis court. The lower level features a 500-bottle wine cellar, a wine-tasting room, a walk-in humidor and a beauty salon. The house also boasts of an entertaining area such as video screen, wet bar, fireplace, library and billiard parlor.
Jordan also built a full-size basketball court attached to the home in 2001, along with a custom sound system, locker rooms, showers and lounge. What is most notable is his famous jersey number � 23 � emblazoned across the gates.
Jordan is now happily married to his longtime girlfriend and model Yvette Prieto. Six years ago, he agreed to a $168 million divorce settlement with wife for 17 years Juanita. The property was then transferred in to trust fully controlled by Jordan.
The 50-year-old legend has six NBA Championship titles and has played for the Chicago Bulls for 13 seasons.
